Turpin quickly gained possession of the ball moving after the opening kick-off against Princeton and displayed great ball control and movement. As the first half of the game goes on Turpin High School players take many shots on goal but most of them go just over the crossbar.
With about 15 minutes left in the first half Turpin’s # 7 David Rinderle gets a yellow card for running into the goalie. Later in the first half Turpin gets a free kick from 45 yards out and # 22 Trey Maxey-DuEst takes the kick and the ball flies just above the crossbar. At halftime the score is tied 0-0. Turpin starts off the second half with the kick off and again has great ball movement and communication. Michael Borger took a pass and directed a header into the back of the net but if was called off sides by the referee. Turpin keeps possession of the the ball for most of the second half but Princeton’s #2 Drew Dickinson has a few really good break aways but the are stopped by Turpin Goalie Joeseph Borger. The game ends after a hard fought battle by both teams 0-0. The Spartans are looking forward to redeem themselves from this tie on Thursday 9/24/15 at Spartan Stadium @ 5:00 PM against Glen Este High School.
