Turpin's track and field teams competed at the District meet in Mason on May 18 and 20 for the opportunity to advance to the Regional meet in Dayton on May 25 and 27.
Only the top four finishers in each event at Mason earned the right to compete in Dayton. Three individuals and two relay teams qualified for the Regional meet and a chance to advance to the State finals.
Sam Bush continued her winning ways, taking 1st in the girls's 3200 meter run at the District meet and 3rd in the 1600 meter. Alexis Thacker took 3rd in the pole vault, and Drew Spencer came in 4th in the shot put to represent Turpin's field athletes at the Regional meet.
Two of the girls' relay teams also qualified: the 3200 Relay team of Lauren Kobasuk, Emma Hauserman, Caroline Mink and Sam Bush came in 2nd; and the 1600 Relay and the 1600 Relay of Emma Hauserman, Lydia Bentley, Molly Finnigan, and Caroline Mink qualified in 4th place.
Good luck to all of these Track and Field athletes as they compete at Dayton's Welcome Stadium for the right to advance to the State meet!
