Spartans Volleyball Downs Rockets

Turpin’s Varsity Volleyball Team chalked up another win tonight as they took on McNicholas. The teams met on McNick’s turf and the Rockets were able to use this to their advantage.

Turpin lost Set 1 with a score of 17-25. Coaches Carboy and Super were able to strategize and encourage their girls who then took Set 2 with a score of 25-16. In this Set, Sophomore Sarah Gormley served 3 Aces in a row and Seniors Claire Armbruster and Charlotte Kerregan threw down great Kills.

Turpin kept their momentum going and took Sets 3 and 4 with scores of 25-16 and 25-23. Turpin was a force to be reckoned with. The Spartans continued with the Aces by Peyton Kennedy, Sarah Gormley, Claire Armbruster, Emily Cattran, and Charlotte Kerregan. Our girls rocked it on Blocks and Kills, too. Top on the scoreboard were Claire with 43 Attacks, 16 being Kills; Emily with 25 Serves, 3 being Aces; and Sarah with 6 Aces and 17 Digs.

Turpin maintains their 1st place position in the ECC but needs to beat Anderson on Thursday in order to keep the title to themselves. A loss to Anderson will leave the Spartans in a three-way tie for first place along with Loveland. Turpin needs your support on Thursday! Please join them at Anderson at 4:30 for the Freshman game, 5:45 for the JV game and 7:00 for the Varsity game.
