The Turpin Boys have achieved some big things this season. They managed to secure their first winning season since 2013. They secured their first home playoff game since 2013, and won it in exciting fashion on Tuesday night vs. the Madiera Mustangs.
The dug a quick 0-2 hole, but Eric Bohenek started the scoring with a great move and unassisted goal. They quickly tied it when Nate Hooper connected with Nick Guenther to knot it up at 2.
From there the game was back and forth, with neither team leading by more than 2 goals. Turpin had a 10-8 lead late in the third, but gave up a goal in the waning moments. Madiera had a 3 goal run in the 4th quarter that could have been back-breaking, the Spartans sucked it up and poured 3 of their own on in the remaining 5:40 of the contest. Coiln Peterman (assist by Bohenek) started the run with a man-up cannon shot. Two possessions later, Peterman found Guenther to knot it at 12. Eric Bohenek finished the game the way he started it, with a clutch goal to put Turpin on top for good.
