The boys cross country team competed in the Midwest Meet of Champions in Hillard, OH on Saturday. It was the best race of the season from the top to the bottom of the lineup. Forty-two runners posted season best times. Twenty-three were career best times.
Sophomore Peter Morton ran the race in 16:28, putting him on the top ten all-time list at Turpin. Sophomore John Morton posted a time that ranked him as the the sixth fastest sophomore on the all-time Turpin list with a finish time of 16:36. Other notable performances were posted by runners who reached new minute milestones.
Calvin Seeman broke 17:00, Dan Friedman broke 18:00, Jack Polivka and Jack Sonnefeld broke 20:00, Andy Thornton broke 23:00 and finally rookies John Cronin, Nate Sievers, and Paul Carnevale were each 1:30 minutes faster than previous PRs.
The team has great momentum as they prepare for the ECC race at Valley View Nature Preserve on October 14th.
