Turpin traveled for the first time to the new West Clermont High School to take on the 10-5 (6-1 ECC) Wolves. The Spartans 8-7 (3-5 ECC) came out with passion and purpose and went toe to toe with their conference rivals in an extremely entertaining opening quarter. Although they were out manned due to injury, the Spartans didn’t back down and kept the game close before succumbing to the Wolves size and depth. Turpin traveled to Summit Country Day on Monday night as the hosts came into the game the #4 ranked Division III team in Ohio. In fact, the Knights have won 35 consecutive regular seasons games as the last time they lost during the season, the seniors were sophomores.  However, the Spartans played a smart and fearless contest, and the potential go ahead shot by Turpin barely missed with just 10 seconds remaining. The Knights escaped the upset bid by the Spartans 29-26.

Forty-eight hours removed from a bitter loss to their neighborhood rival, the Spartans (8-5) returned to the court Monday night for a non-conference tilt against Madeira (9-3). Turpin responded in front of the Fox 19 sports news crew with quality basketball on both ends of the court in an “intense and physical contest” by defeating the Amazons 41-31 at Klinger Court.

Hopewell 17 1Pete Hopewell has coached over 20+ years  in the Cincinnati and Dayton area. He was the Varsity Boys basketball coach at Little Miami prior to coming to Turpin as the Varsity Boys head basketball coach in the Fall of 2005 in which in his second year was able to capture a FAVC Cardinal Division Title and Coach of the year for the 2006-2007 season.
