It was a COLD and WINTERY Classics Swim & Dive meet this year! We endured some snow delays but the meet went off wihout a hitch. This meet is different then all others in that it is held at 10 different locations throughout SW Ohio with over 100 participating schools and over 2,800 athletes! Round two takes place in the evenings at St. X for those that qualified for finals! LOTS AND LOTS OF SWIMMING last weekend! Here is a recap of the top swimmers and divers that represented Turpin proudly!

 All  the Turpin divers made all the cuts and placed in the top 16. Ali got 5th, Lily got 13th, Rory got 14th, and Mac got 14th.

The Freshman Spartans Boys Basketball Team brought in the new year in much the same way they ended the old one, with a dominant victory! On Tuesday, January 2nd, the Spartans (4-4 overall, 3-1 ECC) faced off against the Milford Eagles at THS and ran their winning streak to 4 games with a 62-28 victory. Since starting the season 0-4, the young Spartans have strung together victories of 28 pts, 15 pts, 52 pts, and 34 pts. It appears that Coach Mitch Johnson’s club is clicking on all cylinders right now.

After a few narrow losses against Milford (L 0-1) and Lakota West (L 1-2), the Spartans rallied to tie Loveland 1-1 and defeat Seven Hills 2-0. The defense is holding strong led by sophomore goalie, Peyton Hicks. The boys begin a home streak with a game against Kings tonight, a face off against Indian Hill Saturday afternoon and a match against Walnut Hills next Thursday evening. Come out to Spartan Stadium to cheer on your JV Mens Soccer Team!

Meet Coach Kathy Carboy

 

Kathy Carboy teaches AP U.S. History and Modern U.S. History. As a diver, Coach Carboy was an NCAA All-American and a six time member of the United States National Team. She competed at the 1992 and 1996 U.S. Olympic Trials while attending Louisiana State University.
