On Thursday September 15, the Spartans (6-2, 3-0 ECC) took on an in-conference rival Kings. The Knights of kings entered the contest at 1-4-2. The Knights had the opening kick and play began.
This time it was a matchup between the Madeira Mustangs and the Turpin Spartans (5-2, 2-0 ECC). As always, the first half was played mostly on the opposing team's side, yet the Spartans just couldn’t find the back of the net.
Turpin (4-2, 2-0 ECC) opened up strong against Loveland in its 9/9 match up. There was a close call when Turpin had an indirect kick called against the team and the ball went over the fingertips of David Rinderle, but Trey Maxey-DuEst was there and saved the goal.
On September 6, the Spartans of Turpin (3-2, 1-0 ECC) faced another tough out of conference team in Lakota West. The firebirds of Lakota came into the contest at a 2-1 record while Turpin was 3-1.
