On Saturday, September 20, the Spartan ladies saw perfection at the Harrison Invitational. Racing in ideal conditions, the ladies put together a dominant performance, with all seven varsity runners placing in the top 16. The Varsity team finished 1st out of a field of 10, facing rivals Anderson and Lakota East.
The Spartans took the course on Saturday, September 13th at the Milford Invitational, home of the ECC Championships. On a cold and dreary day, the Spartans were able to come out on top in three of the four races, making great strides in their seasons. 38 combined runners ran a personal best.
On Saturday, September 6, the Spartans took the course at Mason, their most competitive meet of the season. With over 6,000 athletes racing throughout the day, Turpin competed against some of the Tri-States' best teams, including rivals Kings, Anderson, Mason, St. Ursula and Loveland, and nationally ranked Carmel. The challenging course, which consisted of multiple creeks, hay barrel jumps, and hills, proved to be no match for the Spartans, with over half of the team running their best times of the season.
The Spartans took the course early Saturday morning at Lebanon High School. Despite tough running conditions, the boys' and girls' teams were able to outlast the competition, putting in numerous personal records and season bests. The varsity lady Spartans toed the line first, setting the pace for the day. In a field of 79 runners, Turpin's top five runners finished in the top 25. Freshman standout Erica Langan placed 4th overall, with a time of 20:12 and junior teammate Rachel Scardina finished 11th overall at 21:05.
