The Turpin boys golf team got their season off to a strong start. They shot 334 at the Anderson Invitational at Legendary Run on Tuesday. Senior Ryan Lambert led the Spartans with a 75. Turpin placed 7th out of 20 teams. They followed up that performance with a 1st place finish on Wednesday in the ECC Preview at Sharon Woods.
Turpin JV Golf traveled to Avon Fields on Tuesday and got the victory over Summit Hills 158-194. Sophomore Austin Williamson led with a 37, followed by a pair of 40s by freshmen Will Henkel and Sam Rana. On Thursday, the Spartans JV welcomed Indian Hill to Legendary Run and walked away with 174-213 win. Freshman Zach Fidishun fired a 39 in his first high school match to lead the team.
The Turpin boys golf teams hit the links on Monday at Ivy Hills CC for the inaugural Turpin Cup, a Ryder Cup inspired end of season celebration. The teams consisted of evenly paired matchups and competed with a partner in various formats of match play. The guys did not disappoint in creating excitement. On the first hole, there was not one, but TWO hole in ones. The first was by freshman McCoy Reynolds and the second was about ten minutes later by senior Isaac Goldner.
On Tuesday, the Turpin JV defeated Anderson JV 186-194 to finish off the season undefeated against its biggest rival. The Spartans were led by freshmen Austin Williamson's 44 and Zach Gardner's 45 at Legendary Run Golf Course. McNicholas also brought a Varsity-JV mixed squad that shot 180.
