The Eastern Cincinnati Conference once again looks like it could go to a Forest Hills district school. Anderson not only wants to be that school, the Redskins want sole possession. They shared it with Turpin two seasons ago and came up short in the race for the title last season. Anderson, bolstered by a good showing at the Maumee Bay Spiketacular, is riding a wave of confidence.
Congratulations to Coach Kathy Carboy, Assistant Coach Joe Super and Turpin’s Varsity Volleyball Team for winning their first two games in the State Tournament. The Spartans’ first game was held on Monday, October 19th where they beat Middletown in just 3 games with scores of 25-15, 25-12, and 25-12.
What started out as a celebratory night for Anderson, soon became an upset as Turpin vied for another conference win. The Redskins did an amazing job honoring their 3 Senior players and the excitement that filled the air carried over onto the court in Game 1 of the night. The Redskins came together as team and overtook the Spartans by a score of 11-25.
Turpin’s Varsity Volleyball team remains in first place in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference after beating Walnut Hills on Thursday night. The Lady Spartans secured the win in three games with scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-14. The starting line-up consisted of Seniors Ally Gormley, Natalie Makin & Lauren Kobasuk, and Juniors Claire Armbruster, Emily Cattran & Marisa Cerchio.
