Playing their best basketball of the year at home against their fiercest rivals and best friends, Turpin gave Anderson everything the Redskins could handle.
Boys Frosh Basketball
Turpin has lost 2 heart breakers in a row. A tough battle at home against Glen Este did not go our way, in a game where the Spartans played hard, but victory stayed elusive. The team actually showed a little bit of depth, as many of the reserves, like Woody and Eli had some great minutes. Ben and Chris, along with Blaise and Lucas, all provided good things in support the starting 5.
While the record only shows 3 wins and 2 losses, the past 5 games have seen the effort and execution improve radically for the Freshman boys. The past 2 weeks have seen the Spartans lose a hearbreaker to conference leader Kings on a buzzer-beater 3 pointer as time expired. Turpin, at one point held a 14 point lead in the in the second half, but a 3 point prayer saved the game for the gritty Knights. This proves to our boys that they can compete with the best and good things are in store for the Spartan youth.
In what just might be one of the best teams our FR team has played this year, these boys might have played their best half of basketball in the second half last night to get a great win over conference powerhouse Milford last night. In a total team effort, the Spartans fought hard and found a way to get a nice win. Everyone on the team contributed to the victory last night, as Coach Taylor and Coach Jackson went deep into their bench to keep fresh legs in the game.
