The Freshman Boys are beginning to come together.  Their last 2 games have seen a much more consistent team with better effort defensively and, at times, more consistent offense.  The boys are doing a much better job of boxing out and limiting the opponents offensive chances.  They are doing a great job of creating good scoring opportunities in transition and their offensive effort is moving in the right direction.

Sorry for the absence over the Holiday.  I will try to be more prompt with my articles. Turpin split a pair of games to end the calendar year with a hard fought loss at Glen Este; always a difficult place to play, but rebounded very well in defeating a previously undefeated Amelia Barons.

Coach Taylor gets his first victory as Turpin freshman coach as the Spartans defeat a Loveland team that was not ready for the quickness and transition success of the freshman Spartans.  Clay Scherer and Griffin Durso led a Turpin attack that jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back .

The GCL was no kinder to the Spartans yesterday as the Spartans came out on the short end of their home opener against LaSalle.  Credit has to go to the Lancers, as their pressure defense forced too many Turpin turnovers, and their half court offense, with the crisp clean passing and lightning quick ball movement, created a ton of easy baskets that our squad was not able to over come.
