The Award Winning 2011-2012 Turpin Dance Team is ready to take the floor in their first performance of the season. Come out and see the team perform at the half-time of the Varsity Basketball game against McNick, Friday December 9th.
Allison is a certified ACE and DEA professional dance educator who focuses on the wellness of dance technique, JOY, and longevity of the dancer's art form. Using her studies in BS of Secondary Education from GCU, AA from the University of Cincinnati, and a proud diploma of School for the Performing Arts, she is very well known for facilitating certified dance programs for the well being of the new aspiring learner all the way to the career minded advanced dancer. Her teaching methods of scientific dexterity, certified technical dance training forms, classical qualities, contemporary dynamics, Awareness Through Movement (ATM), and ABT ( American Ballet Theater ) curriculum, has excelled within all her students and families. Her most recent work is for reviving WHHS and THS dance teams, developing the successful alternate advanced fitness Ballerobica program in Cincinnati, coach for Girls on the Run, and a previous instructor for Cincinnati Tippi Toes. Past professional works include Ahwatukee's #1 dance studio "Phoenix Dance Cooperative" as Studio Director, School of Ballet Arizona, freelance instructor/choreographer, AZ Dance Project dancer, AZ School of the Arts choreographer, and the launch of Freedom of Dance in 2012 for many struggling dancers.
Monica is a professional fitness instructor and dancer. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and a minor in dance. Her professional dance career includes freelance choreography, two season’s as an NFL cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals, and a dancer at Kings Island. Monica has been teaching dance for 10 years to children ages 2-18 in the tri-state area. Her training is extensive and includes 15 years of competitive dance, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, swing, hip hop, acrobatics, and theater. She has studied at competitive studios, The School for Creative and Performing Arts, and with instructors from the Cincinnati Ballet. Monica has competed in and won regional and national dance competitions in Las Vegas, Branson, Chicago, Miami, Columbus, and Cincinnati. Along with dance, Monica has a passion for health and well-being. She teaches indoor cycling and barre classes at Define: Oakley. She is excited to work with Turpin Dance team and cannot wait to bring them to the top!
