On Friday, February 5 the Turpin Spartans (7-12, 3-9 ECC) lost to the Withrow Tigers (6-13, 3-9 ECC) 68-58 on the Tigers’ home floor.  The second quarter doomed the Spartans, as they were outscored 18-9.

On Tuesday, February 2, the Turpin Spartans (7-11) took a 10 point halftime lead and never looked back in defeating the Harrison Wildcats (4-14) at Klinger Court.

In a sweltering gym at Anderson on Friday, January 29, the Redskins (12-6, 6-5 ECC) used a 21-7 scoring spree in the second quarter to dispose of the Turpin Spartans (6-11, 3-8) 74-56.  Turpin had no answer for ECC scoring leader DeAnthony McCallum who dropped in 33 points.

Boys Basketball Coach

Josh Slonim graduated from Turpin in 2005, where he played basketball and baseball. He played basketball at Ohio Wesleyan University before transferring to Miami University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports studies and then attended Bowling Green, where he earned an MBA in 2010.  He worked as a student assistant with Miami and a graduate assistant at BGSU. He was head coach for AAU teams in Cincinnati and Louisville, winning a National Championship in 2014. Josh served as an assistant at Trinity and Moeller high schools before coming to Turpin in 2017.
