Turpin Lady Spartans' season came to an end as a team as they were unable to finish in the top seven in sectionals at Crossgate Lanes and ended up finishing in tenth place. However, Madison Gillespie moves on to Districts, qualifying individually with a 495 series, and will bowl Wednesday, February 26, at Beaver Vu Bowl in Beavercreek, Ohio. Krista Heggem just missed qualifying with a 487 series.
As promised, everyone had a great time at the year-end student/teacher party on Monday, February 10. Coach Fisher even participated, partnering up with senior, Krista Heggem. After two games of scotch doubles, last year's champs, Mr. Chaney and senior, Kamila Samadi, defended their title with a two game total of 318. Then, everyone bowled a game of Crazy Bowl...what a great time! Pizza, pop and snacks were provided to all participants as well.
The Lady Spartans started the last week of January with a 9-6 record. Four matches later their record stands at 10-9 with their only victory being a home conference match against Kings 2042-1957. Leading Turpin was Madison Gillespie who had a 400 series and a 206 game. Turpin traveled to Mason Bowl the next day for a rematch against Kings, but the outcome did not go Turpin's way. Kings exacted revenge and defeated Turpin 2049-1830. Madison Gillespie led Turpin with a 339 series. Turpin finished with a 6-6 record in the ECC.
