Five Spartan individuals and two relay teams came away from the district track and field meet at Mason as qualifiers for the sectional meet on May 29 and 31. Seniors Charlie Ronan, Danny Keller, and Anna Cornacchione will be extending their high school careers beyond graduation, joined by juniors Alaeldin Tirba and Isabella King as well teammates in both the men’s and women’s 4x800M relays.

The ECC finished its inaugural track season with the championship meet held at Anderson on May 15 and 17 where Turpin's women took second place and the men took third in a very competitive conference. Junior Alaeldin Tirba was named the ECC men's "Runner of the Year" after winning three gold medals and one bronze. Women's Coach Melissa Siemers was awarded co-Coach of the Year honors for the team's strong showing.
This past weekend's Mason Invitational track meet was the last official warm-up for Turpin's track teams before the first ECC championship meet this week. The boys' team finished 4th out of 13 teams, losing to Mason, Clayton Northmont of Dayton, and Westerville North of Columbus while besting 9 other teams. The girls, missing a number of their varsity athletes, finished a disappointing 10th.
On Friday, May 3 the Turpin track teams travelled to Loveland to compete in the Dawn Dehart Invitational. The men took second place out of fifteen teams, behind only the host Tigers, and the women placed fourth out of thirteen. Individuals placing first in their events included Anna Cornacchione and Charlie Ronan in the 100m, Elena Polivka in the 800m, Alaeldin Tirba in the 1600m, and Sam Kissing in the 3200m.
