Turpin junior Antony Parnigoni made it "2-for-2" as he won his second cross country race in two weeks, this time winning the Loveland Invitational to lead the Spartans to a second-place finish.

Girls cross country hope to run the FAVC table

The Turpin High School girls' cross country team will be very competitive this season and head coach Melissa Siemers said she likes the FAVC realignment.

"With it being a little larger, it will be more similar to other meets we attend," Siemers said. "I think we're going to be pretty competitive."

Boys Cross Country Team

Cross Country History

The Turpin Cross Country program has a long and storied history, including many championships and state placers. The 2001 girls team won the state championship, coached by Steve Nester, now at Xavier University. Meet the Coaches

Coach Missy Siemers was named the Head Coach of the girls program in 2006 . She was the FAVC Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2008, and was Southwest District Coach of the Year in 2007. She and her husband, Pat, have two children, Allyson and Kara.

Coach Matt Wieczorek is in his first season as the Turpin boys head coach.  He comes to Turpin from Loyola University-Chicago, where he competed for both the cross country and track teams, and was track coach for the teams at Roberto Clemente High School.
