The match started out back and forth between the Spartans and the Sevin Hills Stingers. While the Spartans were handling the pressure from the Stingers, late in the first half, Senior Luke Gonos took a touch off of a deflection and hammered it into the back of the net to put the Spartans up by one.
On Tuesday September 22, the Spartans traveled to Princeton in the second of back to back games. Turpin, coming off of a win against Indian Hill, looked to get another win against a solid Princeton team.
Brad Herndon recorded the shutout and Luke Gonos scored on a header from a corner kick to help the Spartans to a 1-0 win over Indian Hill.
The Turpin football, boys and girls soccer, girls tennis, volleyball teams are a combined 22-0 against its foes in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference this season, as the Spartans have dominated nearly every sport and are No. 1 in 5 of the 7 team sports which have standings. Even though the girls soccer team did tie a game, the five teams have not lost a game all season.
