JV Gold arrived at Spartan Stadium for its final game of the season Tuesday evening against newly-minted conference foe, the West Clermont Wolves. Fresh off a disappointing 1-1 tie at Lakota West, where West put in a last minute equalizer, Gold warmed up under overcast skies. By the first whistle, the clouds had given way to steady rain.
Girls Soccer JV
It was a roller coaster week for JV Gold Girls Soccer that saw the Spartans go 1-1 in two away games against the Kings Knights and McAuley Mohawks.
A hot and humid Fall day on the turf at Spartan Stadium saw a tough match up against the St. Ursula Bulldogs Saturday morning.
The Bulldogs have a well-earned reputation throughout the city as a skilled, tactically accomplished team. Short three starters due to injury, this game might have ended differently if not for the determined Spartans who came ready to play, including the eight players from the Maroon squad who lent their talent to Gold for the game.
After a couple of off-strategy games that resulted in a win and a loss last week, JV Gold was looking to return to form at conference foe Walnut Hills High School Tuesday afternoon.
Though the weather was typical of Fall in Cincinnati - sunny skies after a day of rain – this particular contest had a different feel about it from the very first whistle.
