The Lady Spartans squared off with a fierce Lakota West Firebirds squad last Saturday morning. Both teams exhibited exceptional skills, high energy and smart strategy, resulting in a low-scoring, 72-minute, midfield grind wherein any offensive breakout run could have resulted in a game-winner.

Last Monday the Lady Maroon Spartans took on a strong Centerville team for the second time. The first had Turpin losing 2-0. I will tell you now; this time they would lose 5-0. I will also tell you this time they played better. I know what you’re thinking, come on article guy how is a 5-0 loss better than a 2-0 loss. Simple is the answer, last time when the kickoff sounded we dropped 10 girls and played defense the entire game. This game would be much different.
Those Turpin Ladies were jes kickin’ round the schoolyard Tuesday afternoon when the Wyoming Cowboys rode up Turpin Mountain and challenged ‘em to a good old-fashioned shootin’ match. Well that sure rattled the Spartans, so they booted-up, cleared the horses off the range, and showed dem Cowboys how to trap, scoot and shoot like Annie Oakley.
On a crisp Saturday morning, the Seton Saints travelled across town for a match against a tough, largely unbeaten, Turpin Spartans team. In contrast to the recent matches against known local rivals, this contest featured teams unfamiliar with each other’s playing style. However, after the first five minutes, it was clear that their skills were evenly matched at all positions, and this would be another challenging event.
