In their first match since classes began, the Turpin Boys JV welcomed Indian Hill to Legendary Run Golf Course last Tuesday. Freshman Austin Williamson was the medalist at 41, supported by Freshmen Zachary Gardner's 44 and Cameron Hacker's 45. The Spartans won this round 178-193, and will face the Braves in a rematch Tuesday at California Golf Course.
The Turpin boys varsity golf team battled St. X last Tuesday at a tough Terrace Park CC where they fell short by 7 strokes. They were led by Collin McAninch and Isaac Goldner who both shot 4 over par. On Thursday, the Spartans bounced back against Walnut Hills, defeating them 161 - 171. They were led by medalist Collin McAninch who shot a 38, followed by Ryan Lambert with a 40.
On Wednesday, the Turpin JV squad took on Milford High School at Deer Track Golf Course. Freshmen Garrett Frey and Cameron Hacker led the way with a 43 and 45, respectively, to give the Spartans the win over the Eagles 186-205 in mosquito-heavy conditions.
The Turpin boys golf team had a strong showing last Monday at Stillmeadow CC in the Eastside Challenge. The Spartans posted a score of 310 and finished in second place. Collin McAninch was runner-up to the individual medalist with a 74.
