The 2015 Turpin golf season officially concluded on Thursday, October 15th, when senior captain Connor Lambert played in the district golf tournament at Weatherwax Golf Course in Middletown. Connor fought hard on a cool, windy day, shooting an 85 on the 7,000 yard layout. He birdied two holes on the front nine, had four drives over 350 yards and representated Turpin proudly.
On a picture perfect fall day, the Turpin boys varsity golf team played in the Cincinnati East Sectional Golf Tournament on October 6th at Glenview Golf Course.
The team shot 334 to finish in seventh place (out of 15 teams) ahead of some very good teams including Kings, Glen Este, and Anderson. It was a strong finish for this talented Spartans team.
The JV boys golf team ended their season on Saturday on a high note in the CHL Tournament at Meadow Links against Wyoming, Indian Hill, Mariemont, and Seven Hills. They came out victorious, shooting a 162, beating the field by a narrow margin. Ben Hemmelgarn was the tournament medalist, shooting a 36, followed by Clay Scherer with a 39. It was a great way to cap off a successful season.
The boy's varsity golf team raised their season record to 11-6 after defeating Glen Este and Walnut Hills at Stillmeadow Country Club on September 24. Cash Renfro continued to stay hot and earned medalist honors with a low score of 40. Other scorers were Jacob Breth with a 43, and Collin McAninch and Connor Lambert with 44s.
