The Turpin boys golf team finished in second in this year's King of the Hill at Coldstream Country Club. They were led by junior, Cash Renfro, who was medalist with a 1-over par, 37. On Thursday the Spartans faced West Clermont at Friendly Meadows. They bounced back with a solid 157 to take the win. They were again led by Cash Renfro with another 1-over, 37. They had strong team support from Ryan Lambert and Austin Williamson who both came in with 2-over par, 38.
On a day when the golf course seemed to have the upper hand, Turpin beat Anderson 203-221. The shot of the day came when Elizabeth Chamberlin pitdhed in from 88 yards out for an eagle on Terrace Park's par 4 No. 6 hole. With this win, the girls are tied for first place in the ECC. This week will be a great test with a match against Kings, who are also tied for first place, on Monday and the ECC Tournament on Thursday.
A day after defeating rival McNicholas at Legendary Run Golf Course, the visiting Spartans handled Anderson JV 168-190 at the same course. Turpin JV was led by Freshmen Will Henkel and Zach Fidishun's pair of 41s. Sophomore Cam Hacker also fired a 42.
The Turpin boys varsity golf team started the week on Tuesday with a win over Wyoming, 168-179 at Ivy Hills CC. They were led by senior Ryan Lambert who shot a strong 37. On Wednesday, Turpin faced Anderson at Legendary Run Golf Course where they squeaked out a win, 168-170. Junior Cash Renfro carried the team with a 1-under par 35. This win puts Turpin in first place in the ECC with a 3-1 record and 6-2 overall.
