The Spartan wrestlers had to overcome a 5 hour snow delay on Saturday morning but their patience paid off as all seven of their participants were able to place and take home individual awards.
This Saturday the Spartan wrestlers participated in the 15 team Sycamore Invitational tournament. At the end of the day there were four wrestlers standing on the podium to receive individual awards. Leading the way were seniors Nick Robinson and Quinn Hoenie who each placed 2nd in their weight classes. Also placing were freshman Brady Eckert (5th place) and junior Sam Wulfekotter (4th place).
Seniors Nick Robinson and Quinn Hoenie once again came away with wins over both their opponents from Anderson and McNicholas to capture individual "King of the Hill" championships. This is the 3rd win at "King of the Hill" for Nick and the 2nd for Quinn. Each of them went 2-0 with 2 pins each on the evening.
The Spartan wrestlers competed Thursday in the Kings High School duals finishing 1 - 1 in team results for the evening. Leading the way for the Spartan's once again were seniors Nick Robinson and Quinn Hoenie who each went 2 - 0 (2 pins) on the night. Also notching 2 victories was freshman Brady Eckert 2 - 0 (1pin).
