Turpin (ECC 1-3, overall 1-4) has suffered three road losses in a row and are now getting ready for the cross-town shoot out versus rival Anderson Redskins. This game will be played at Turpin on Friday December 20th at 6:00pm.

This game started with Kings going on a 7-0 run and J. Breeze knocking down a 3 to cut the King’s lead to 4 at the 5:42 mark. With 2:59 left to play in the quarter, Turpin closed the gap to 6, with a great assist from Baker to Richardson for an easy basket. Then Kings went on an 8-2 to run close out the quarter. First quarter score was Kings 23 Turpin 11. The first quarter showed that the Kings height and inside play was too much for Turpin handle. All of Milford’s 23 first quarter points were layups or put backs.

JV Turpin boys basketball win their first ECC game and are 1-0 in the ECC and 1-1 overall. In the first quarter Glen Este came out playing a zone defense and was leading early 5-0 at 4:43 mark. It was half through the first half, when Jack Glandt got the offense started by making two free throws and a basket, along with a Michael Grotton basket and a 3 pointer by Brad Herndon for Turpin to finish the quarter on a 9-2 run. Score Turpin 9 Glen Este 7

Second quarter was a little sloppy with 7 turnovers, but we managed to increase the lead at half by 6. This quarter four different Turpin players scored. Jack Glandt had 8 points for the half and Turpin was 5-6 from the line. A’drien Baker added 5 points, along with two free throws from Gonos and a basket from Alex Watts. Score: Turpin with the lead 22-16. Overall the first half was the result of good team work and rebounding.

First quarter action started off slow for both teams until Jared Breeze made a basket and was fouled and then completed the AND ONE, to put Turpin up 3-0 at 3:38 mark.   Luke Gonos added 4 points in the quarter and made a great hustle play to save a ball going out of bounds to save a possession. The first quarter score was 7-6 advantage Turpin.

Two JV Spartans, Adam Toerner and Brandon Williamson, had their season highs at Saturday night's game against a tough Princeton team. After being ahead by 12 half-way through the second quarter, Princeton rallied and eventually won by one in a tough lose for the Spartans, 53-52.

Finnell 17 1Coach Billy Finnell played at Purcell Marian, where he was named the Greater Catholic League Player of the Year as a senior. He went on to play for NKU, earning the GLVC Freshman of the Year award and graduated as one of the Norse’s top point guards.
