Beam was the highlight with only one fall from the 6 routines competed-- which this early in the season is quite an accomplishment and might be a record. The 6 competitors were Maria Bushman, Kandice Williams, Polina Elagin, Emily Swertfeger, Gretchen Watkins and Haley Witherell. Senior Haley W. won the event with a 9.15 and Sophomore Gretchen Watkins finished 3rd with an 8.9. Senior Emily Swertfeger and Junior Polina Elagin had career high scores to add to the team total.

Floor was the last event. Kandice Williams, Hailey Beisweinger, Polina Elagin, Maria Bushman, Brittany Gardner, Katie Lambert and Gretchen Watkins competed. Floor Junior Brittany Gardner won the event with a 9.0, which is a career high score. She was followed by Junior Katie Lambert with an 8.8 for a second place finish.

Turpin finished in second place by a small margin to Oak Hills. A good start to their season. The next meet is January 9th at Cincinnati Country Day.

The SouthWest Individual Meet was held at Miamisburg High School on Sunday. No they are not swimming but doing the regular gymnastics events. There is no team score kept , as this is an opportunity for the ladies to get in another shot to reach their personal goals.
