The Turpin JV Lady Spartans took a 3-2 record into Kings on Wednesday night with high expectations. Unfortunately, a half court trap from Kings, numerous turnovers, and passive play by Turpin on both ends of the court created a game that was lopsided from the outset.

To say the JV Lady Spartans started slowly Wednesday night at Anderson may be an understatement. Against the Anderson Redskins, the Spartans scored just two points in the first quarter and trailed 6-2, the only basket coming late in the quarter on a driving lay-up by Emily Evans.
Earlier in the week, the Glen Este Lady Trojans used an aggressive full court press to force numerous turnovers by the Junior Varsity Lady Spartans. This time, however, the tables were turned.
Against the Lady Cavs, the Spartans jumped out to an early first quarter lead of 15-4 thanks to three consecutive steals by Nicole Tarpoff. The JV squad led 30-12 at half-time due to a stifling full zone court press which created numerous first half turnovers for the Lady Cavs.
