Going into the first of three games during the final week before the holiday break, Turpin’s first test would be the Seton Saints. Both squads started cold but the Spartans found their touch midway through the period to go up 9-3 after the 1st. The full court press resulted in transition baskets by Audrey Robinson and Savanah Hazenfield. Chloe Smith added a field goal before leaving the game with a shoulder injury.
Girls JV Basketball
Savanah Hazenfield started the game against Walnut Hills in 5th gear as she scored 9 points to go along with three rebounds in the opening quarter. Audrey Robinson added a pair of baskets while Corinne Nikolai and Elise Schulok each added a basket as Turpin jumped out to a 17-4 lead after the first.
Coming off their most complete game of the young season, maintaining that high level of play would be a challenge as the Spartans hosted their neighborhood rivals, the Anderson Redskins. Turpin started strong with balanced scoring and were up 11-1 after the 1st.
Leading up to this conference game, Coach Hill challenged his squad to get off to a fast start, so he couldn’t have been happier when the Spartans were up 16-1 after the 1st.
