The Lady Spartans worked their offense to almost perfection and never let up on the scoring and defense.  All eight Lady Spartans contributed to the offense for the first time all year.   It was great team effort by the Freshman team.  Spartan 58  Walnut 15.  This win completes a sweep of Walnut Hills. 

The Lady Spartans were lead by Kelci Calder with 19 points (one 3 pointer).  Other leading scorers were Heather Becker13, Hannan Smith 6, Kori Hickman 6, Meghan Davis 5, Sam Bausch 4, Sarah Greene 3 and Amanda Herzog 2.

The Lady Spartans take the sweep over Anderson with a score of 39 to 14.  The offensive attack started with Kori Hickman and ended with Kori Hickman.  Hitting her well know base line shots and playing good defense with lots of rebounds.  Kori lead the team in points with 10.  Overall, a great team win, with the exception of free throw shooting (3 for 11).  All great teams have something to improve on. With a half time score of 18 to 10, the Lady Spartans made the adjustments at half time and outscored Anderson in the second half 21 to 4 to put the new winning streak at 2.  Other leading scorers were Sarah Greene and Kelci Calder with 9 points each, Meghan Davis 6, Heather Becker 3, and Sam Bausch 2.  The overall record now stands at 11-1 for the season.  Next game is at Milford Jan 25th.

Hopewell 17 1Pete Hopewell is going into his 23rd year coaching High School Sports in the Cincinnati and Dayton area. He was the Varsity Boys basketball coach at Little Miami prior to coming to Turpin as the Varsity Boys head basketball coach in the Fall of 2005 in which in his second year was able to capture a FAVC Cardinal Division Title and Coach of the year for the 2006-2007 season.
