Congratulations to coaches Georg, Costello and Maupin for preparing and assembling an outstanding team for the Varsity Wrestling ECC tournament. All eight high schools within the Eastern Cincinnati Conference had wrestlers participate in this competition which took place at Loveland High School.
The Turpin Swim & Dive team celebrated a win and their Seniors at their last home meet against West Clermont. Prior to the dive meet, Seniors Rory Blankenship and Lily Malone were recognized in front of the diving community.
It happens rarely, but when it does, it’s a thrill. The moment when an athlete turns a corner and you witness a rise in stature. When all the hours of practice come together and your arm is raised by the referee, victory is yours. Those who watched freshman Kenny Wagner wrestle against Badin’s 113 pound opponent, saw a wrestler come alive on the mat.
The hard-hitting Spartans tried to stop the Walnut Hills Eagles from taking flight this week in a nail-biting match of the minds. The Varsity team, led by Vice Anderson, put up a good fight, but ultimately let the reigning ECC Champions take the win.
Turpin will be offering FREE introductory Strength and Conditioning times for ALL future Spartan 8th graders. The sessions will start March 5th and go through March 23rd and will take place in the Turpin weight room. Each session will be lead by our Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through our partnership with Ignition APG.
This week's match against the Milford Eagles went well for the Turpin Spartans. Varsity won both games on the night. Meanwhile, JV only barely lost to Milford. Highlight of the games included the Senior Night-ing ceremony for Milford, and the red velvet cupcakes.
The Spartans Divers are off to a great start this season. Led by seniors Rory Blankenship and Lily Malone, along with sophomore divers Ali Asbury and Mac Carroll, the team has come off a busy week on the boards.
