A busy week for the Turpin JV resulted in three match wins and a first place tournament finish. The Spartans beat Seven Hills 165-217 at Legendary Run on Monday, led by Freshmen Nick Langan (40) and Zach Fidishun (41) and sophomore Zach Gardner (41).
The Spartan's girls tennis team won the ECC tournament on Tuesday, adding to their winning streak. Almost all of the girls made it to the final, but over all they ended up pulling out a win.
The Spartans visited Oak Hills on Saturday, came away with another strong two set victory (25-18, 25-22), and have now won 9 of their last 10 matches.
The volleyball team will be hosting several activities at its Tuesday, Sept. 26 game against West Clermont in support of the Warriors Run charity, a 5K race that benefits “Surviving the Teens,” which is Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Suicide Prevention Program.
Down 14-7 in the third quarter, the Turpin Spartans rallied to beat the Walnut Hills Eagles on Homecoming 27-14 to improve their record to 2-3 this season and 1-1 in the ECC.
The Turpin boys golf team finished in second in this year's King of the Hill at Coldstream Country Club. They were led by junior, Cash Renfro, who was medalist with a 1-over par, 37. On Thursday the Spartans faced West Clermont at Friendly Meadows. They bounced back with a solid 157 to take the win. They were again led by Cash Renfro with another 1-over, 37. They had strong team support from Ryan Lambert and Austin Williamson who both came in with 2-over par, 38.
After grabbing an early 2-0 set lead, the Spartans were forced to dig deep to overcome a rowdy crowd, what seemed to be endless referee controversies and a furious Anderson come back to defeat the Redskins in 5 sets, 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 19-25, 15-9.
