The Turpin boys golf team finished in second in this year's King of the Hill at Coldstream Country Club. They were led by junior, Cash Renfro, who was medalist with a 1-over par, 37. On Thursday the Spartans faced West Clermont at Friendly Meadows. They bounced back with a solid 157 to take the win. They were again led by Cash Renfro with another 1-over, 37. They had strong team support from Ryan Lambert and Austin Williamson who both came in with 2-over par, 38.
The volleyball team will be hosting several activities at its Tuesday, Sept. 26 game against West Clermont in support of the Warriors Run charity, a 5K race that benefits “Surviving the Teens,” which is Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Suicide Prevention Program.
The girls tennis team finished its final ECC match against new school, West Clermont having gone undefeated in ECC play.
Coach Kent McCullough recorded his first win as Turpin head coach as the Spartans downed Western Hills 42-6 Friday. Turpin scored all its points in teh first quarter to seal the win, led by Blaise Bostic's two touchdown receptions and Griffen Durso's blocked punt recovery for a TD and also a 35-year interception return for a score.
After grabbing an early 2-0 set lead, the Spartans were forced to dig deep to overcome a rowdy crowd, what seemed to be endless referee controversies and a furious Anderson come back to defeat the Redskins in 5 sets, 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 19-25, 15-9.
A day after defeating rival McNicholas at Legendary Run Golf Course, the visiting Spartans handled Anderson JV 168-190 at the same course. Turpin JV was led by Freshmen Will Henkel and Zach Fidishun's pair of 41s. Sophomore Cam Hacker also fired a 42.
The girls tennis team had a match on the first day of school against Anderson and won on all five courts. After the matches, both JV and Varsity enjoyed pizza and desserts with their opponents-thanks to the moms!
